To offer adaptive therapeutic yoga programs, using approaches that have been researched and proven to benefit senior adults, individuals with Parkinsons, and caregivers in underserved communities. These offerings help participants learn how to use yoga tools for positive life changes and experience a quality-of-life improvement allowing them to feel empowered physically, mentally, and socially.
Having worked with Seniors since 2008 and individuals with Parkinson’s and Movement Disorders since 2013, I have been able to witness the benefits of yoga for BOTH groups. The practice of yoga offers individuals the opportunity to add movement into their life regardless of any limitations they may be experiencing either on a temporary or permanent basis. The classes I offer focus on grounding and strengthening the body starting with the feet to help find better balance, breathing techniques to reduce stress and specific physical exercises to help increase mobility.
